Accessibility Statement
What we're aiming for, where we currently fail it, and who to tell when something blocks you.
We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this site and the platform. We do not currently meet it everywhere, and the honest thing is to say where — an accessibility statement that claims full conformance without an audit is a marketing document, not an accessibility one.
1. What we have done
- Every interactive control is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring that meets contrast requirements.
- A skip link to main content is the first element in the tab order.
- Landmarks and heading order are structured for screen readers, with one
mainper page and no skipped heading levels. - Body text meets the 4.5:1 contrast minimum against its background.
- Layout reflows to 320 px with no horizontal scrolling and no loss of content.
- Animation respects
prefers-reduced-motion; marquees and cursor effects stop when the OS asks for reduced motion. - Images carry alt text describing purpose, not filename.
2. Where we currently fall short
Known and open. Each of these is a real gap, not a caveat:
- No independent audit. The above reflects our own testing, not a third-party assessment. Until that happens, treat this as a self-assessment.
- Generated video has no captions by default. For a product whose output is video advertising, this is the most significant gap on the page — synthetic speech without captions excludes deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences from your ads, not just from our interface. Caption export is the highest-priority accessibility item on our roadmap.
- No audio description for visual-only information in generated output.
- Complex editing surfaces — timeline and canvas interactions have not been fully validated with screen readers, and some drag interactions lack a keyboard equivalent.
- Screen-reader coverage is tested against VoiceOver and NVDA, not the full matrix.
3. If you need captions today
Until caption export ships, generated video can be captioned in your editing tool or by the ad platform’s own captioning before you publish. We would rather point you at a workaround that exists than imply the gap is smaller than it is. Ask us and we will walk you through it.
4. Tell us what is blocking you
If any part of this site or the product stops you doing something, write to hello@fireplaceugc.com. Include what you were trying to do and what assistive technology you use, if you are comfortable saying.
- We acknowledge within 2 business days.
- We give you an assessment and a target date within 10 business days.
- Where a fix will take time, we will offer a workaround in the meantime rather than leaving you waiting.
Accessibility reports are treated as defects with the same priority as functional bugs, not as feature requests.
5. Formal detail
This statement applies to this website and the FireplaceUGC platform. It is based on a self-evaluation, is accurate as of the date at the top of this page, and is reviewed when significant features ship. Conformance status: partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA — some parts do not fully conform, and they are named in section 2.
