Acceptable Use Policy
The things you can't make with this, why each line is drawn, and what enforcement looks like.
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. Each line below exists for a reason and the reason is given, because a rule you understand is one you can apply to a case we did not anticipate.
1. Nothing deceptive
- No fabricated testimonials. A synthetic presenter must not narrate a personal experience they did not have or report a result they did not obtain. They may describe your product and make claims you can substantiate. This is the line the whole category gets wrong; see AI Content & Disclosure.
- No impersonation. Not of a real person, a public figure, a brand you do not own, a journalist, a government body, or a medical professional.
- No fake authority. No presenting a synthetic presenter as a doctor, pharmacist, lawyer, or financial adviser giving advice.
- No forged formats. No fake news reports, fake platform interfaces, fake reviews, or fake urgency counters.
2. Content we will not generate
- Sexual content, nudity, or any sexualised depiction. Anything involving minors in a sexual context is reported to the authorities, not merely refused.
- Content depicting or inciting violence, self-harm, or hatred.
- Harassment of an identifiable person, or content designed to demean a group by protected characteristic.
- Political advertising, electoral content, and issue advocacy — the disclosure regimes vary by jurisdiction, and our performer releases do not cover it.
- Illegal goods and services, weapons, recreational drugs, and prescription medicines sold without a prescription.
- Content that infringes copyright, trade mark, or a person’s likeness rights.
3. Categories that need extra care
Not banned, but held to a higher standard because the harm from a misleading ad is bodily or financial rather than commercial. We may ask for substantiation before enabling these:
- Health, supplements, and medical devices — no cure claims, no before-and-after implying a clinical outcome, no synthetic presenter implying professional endorsement.
- Financial products, credit, and crypto — no guaranteed returns, no synthetic presenter reporting profits, and risk warnings are your responsibility.
- Weight loss and body image — no implied physical transformation from product use alone.
- Alcohol and gambling — must meet the age-gating and disclosure rules of every market you run in. Our performer releases exclude gambling; see Likeness & Consent.
- Children as an audience — no ads directed at under-13s.
4. Platform conduct
- No attempting to extract, reverse-engineer, or distil our models, and no using output to train a competing generative model.
- No reselling raw platform access, and no sharing one seat across multiple businesses. Agencies running client work on one account is fine and expected.
- No automated scraping of the actor library, no automated access outside the documented API, and no circumventing rate limits, moderation, security controls, or provenance metadata.
- No probing, load-testing, or attacking the infrastructure.
- No presenting AI-generated output as authentic footage where the distribution platform or applicable law requires AI disclosure — see AI Content & Disclosure.
5. What happens if you breach this
Our response is proportionate to the harm, not mechanical:
- Blocked generation — moderation refuses the request. No account consequence; you may simply have hit a boundary.
- Warning — for a first breach that is capable of remedy and is not causing ongoing harm, we tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it.
- Suspension — for repeated breaches, or a serious one while we investigate.
- Termination — for deliberate deception, misuse of a real person’s likeness, or anything involving minors. These do not get a warning.
Where we terminate for a breach, fees for the current period are not refunded. Creative you generated before the breach remains yours, unless it is itself the breaching material.
You can appeal any decision. Write to hello@fireplaceugc.com and a person who was not involved in the original decision will review it. Automated moderation makes mistakes, and an appeal route is how those get corrected.
6. Reporting misuse
To report an ad you believe was made with our service and breaches this policy, write to hello@fireplaceugc.com. Reports from non-customers are welcome and handled identically.
Questions about this document? Write to hello@fireplaceugc.com. If something here contradicts another page in this set, tell us — a conflict between our own policies is our problem to fix, not yours to interpret.
